First Decree

Even though they hail from the bucolic setting of Cheyenne, Wyoming – not known as a “Hot Bed” for Modern Rock music - the members of First Decree have the talent, drive and determination to have their music reach a global audience. Their energy is abundant in their live shows and in the music from their forthcoming album “This Is Our Rise”, which is slated for an August 7th, 2015 release.

Their current single “Lost in the Crowd” is at Active Rock radio nationwide and climbing the Radio Contraband Under The Radar Chart. While this is their first single from “This Is Our Rise”, First Decree's debut track "Phoenix" peaked at #12 on the Under the Radar Chart and #28 on the BDS Indicator chart. First Decree is about to embark on a 30 day tour that crisscrosses the US with In This Moment, starting on June 23rd in Scottsdale, AZ.

Band members Dane, Isaac, and Zach Lopez-Smith are brothers while frontman Travis James is a family friend. They all grew up in Cheyenne and gravitated to music in their own ways: Dane played the trumpet in school before picking up the guitar; Isaac played the viola and violin before learning to play bass; Zach played piano early on and performed in school band ensembles on the drums; and Travis sang in choir and played the guitar. They came together as First Decree in 2012 and released their debut EP that same year. After extensive touring regionally throughout the Midwest, First Decree headed to the studio with Joel Wanasek to record their first full length album "Set in Stone" in August of 2013.

The band has become “Road Warriors” and has expanded its touring base by playing more than 200 dates in the last 2 years, including stops at SXSW, The Texas Showdown Festival, Gig It Festival, and Dirt Fest. In that span, First Decree has proudly shared the stage with: Smile Empty Soul, Alien Ant Farm, ACIDIC, Trapt, Sevendust, Thousand Foot Krutch, The Deftones, Saliva, Psychostick, Hed PE, and Righteous Vendetta, among others.

First Decree’s ultimate goal is to have their music reach as many people as possible around the world and for their music to inspire and encourage listeners. Becoming one of the biggest modern rock bands and a household name in the rock community drives them forward, and “This Is Our Rise” promises to set them on their way.
