Award-winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins is about to release his very first classical music compositions. Yes, you read it correctly. Mr. Hannibal Lecter/Silence of the Lambs himself is also a classical music composer.
According to Musicnews.com, "Anthony Hopkins' musical ability was a shock. (He) didn't take his musical ability seriously until recently."
'I have a piano ' I play every day, if I'm home ' and I've always improvised music and composed," he said in an interview with British newspaper The Independent. "But I never took any of it seriously. I did it not out of ambition to be a musician or to be a composer, but for the sheer pleasure of it. Stella heard my playing over the years and said, 'Why don't you write those down?'"
'Anthony Hopkins ' Composer' is the recording of nine of Sir Anthony's original works including pieces composed for two films that he not only scored but also directed and starred in ('Slipstream' and 'August').
Sir Anthony is releasing his original classical compsitions through Classic FM, and online classical music station based in the UK.
