Heavy metal and hard rock fans are a fickle and discerning bunch. Bands that attempt to make a career for themselves by trend jumping with half-hearted devotion do not last. Straight Line Stitch has been steadily ascending the ranks of metal and hard rock through authentic and impassioned performances, an organic evolution of their writing and recording, and a tried and true road warrior mentality towards touring.

The Kinected is an original four piece group who's sound is somewhat of a hybrid. They blend pop, funk, and rock with an electro edge. The music features well-crafted songwriting sensibility with intelligent, relatable lyrics. The songs contain several hooks, both rhythmic and melodic, that seamlessly groove together to form this unique sound.

The address is 315… On Bowery to be more specific, the legendary awning is gone but past a rack of motorcycle jackets and beside a table filled with t-shirts of the once greats that passed through the now spotless walls, you can still find a sticker emblazoned with the name Man on Earth.

 It’s been a crazy year for weather in Chicago, so of course after weeks of spring, it rains the day the Lucky Street Tour hits Illinois. Regardless, I jumped on the green line and headed over to the Bottom Lounge to wait in the rain for some great music and an amazing night. The show didn’t start until 6:30 but when I showed up at 2:30 there was already a line of about 50 people braving the wind and precipitation on the sidewalk, some with ponchos, others shielded under doorways and the rest just out in the open but no one seemed to mind.
