LIVE AT 6:00 P.M.
Verona Red displays serious disregard for good behavior on stage, and leaves little room for doubt regarding their ability to rock and roll. As part of Chicago's live music scene for three years now, Verona Red’s high-energy indie-rock blend of dance, blues, synth and sing-a-long
always romances the crowd into dancing. Filled with bass-drum climbing, floor grinding, instrument swapping and insults to your mother, their live show births an energy so vicious, children run from it. Thankfully, the music enthusiasts and lushes usually present at Verona Red shows often embrace this contagious debauchery.
Their first album, an eight-song EP called Ever and After the End, was released in October 2005, and Verona Red’s been gaining momentum since. In November 2008, they debuted their first full-length album, Side Effects, to a full-house at Chicago’s Double Door.
Synth beats loiter across Side Effects, which highlights Verona Red’s ability to combine distorted blues-saturated vocals, provocative guitar riffs and boisterous sing-alongs into a sexy and undeniable rock and roll sound. Songs from the album were highlighted on Windy City Records’ 2008 Rock Compilation CD and on multiple blogs and podcasts from around the world, including Radio Orphans
Podcast, This Reality Podcast, Get Fit Pod, Marvel Noise, Dark Horse Radio and Indie Music Sampler.
