Vigil and Thieves, coined as an optimistically tragic indie rock quartet, have announced their return to the open road this June paired with a live cover performance of "The Hills" by The Weeknd. The dynamic and seemingly ironic rendition marries well with the band's most recent release titled "Haunting," which received high praise from profiles such as Tattoo.com, I Heart Local Music and Moniker Guitars. Vigil and Thieves will be saturating the Midwest this summer on the Neverland Tour 2016 with the ethereal and moody qualities that drew listeners in, proving that they can tell stories through their instruments as well as visceral lyrics.

Vigil and Thieves is a Kansas City indie alternative quartet formed in early 2014. Previously described as "grandiose" with a "heartbreaking heaviness," the band has honed in on dynamic and lyrically-driven song structures that have been compared to live poetry. Their debut album, '[defective] book one,' was released in September 2014, followed by an east coast tour in support, and has since received high praise from publications including Liberty Press, CAMP Kansas City Magazine, and I Heart Local Music. The band received first place in the Judges' Choice category in the 2016 Human Rights Campaign Battle of the Bands.
They are currently in the studio tracking a series of songs that hold true to their optimistically tragic aesthetic while demonstrating a dark, robust and refined sound. Stay tuned for upcoming tour dates in Summer 2016.
